Our story:
Seán McCarthy is a graduate of University College Cork, where he was twice conferred with the title of college scholar in recognition of academic excellence. He is also a former national food enterprise award winner and graduate of the year. During the formative years of his career, Seán worked as a production specialist in the food processing industry. This experience stimulated his interest in food safety and quality systems. Later, the formation of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland and introduction of new legislation prompted him to establish Innovative Food Solutions in 1998.
Seán has gathered over twenty years of experience supporting food businesses. While Innovative Food Solutions is based in Cork, Seán has implemented HACCP programmes and delivered food safety training on behalf of many clients throughout Ireland. He is licensed to deliver training courses on behalf of both the National Hygiene Partnership and Environmental Health Association of Ireland. He has a particular interest in food chain traceability systems and is a qualified teacher of Agricultural Economics, Business, History and Physical Education.
Seán has a specific interest in Special Educational Needs and has lectured on both the Higher Diploma Facilitating Inclusion and Diploma in Autism Studies courses at University College Cork. Seán lives in Douglas, Cork with his wife Una and daughter Jenny. He served his local GAA and Soccer clubs as a player and administrator and is also a keen runner.
